1. Overview & Commitment

At BotForge (usebotforge.app), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data and application source code you entrust to our platform.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is secured, and your rights regarding your data when using our bot hosting infrastructure and services.

2. Information We Collect

A. Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, full name (if provided), password hash (stored securely using scrypt), and authentication session tokens. If you sign in using Google OAuth or GitHub, we receive your verified profile email and account identifier.

B. Bot Deployment & Configuration Data

To run your bots, we store project source code archives, build artifacts, runtime start commands, and environment variables you configure in your dashboard. We treat all tokens, API keys, and environment variables as private, sensitive secrets.

C. Payment Information

Payments are handled directly by certified payment processors (including Paystack). BotForge does not store credit card numbers or banking credentials. We only retain payment reference IDs, plan identifiers, and transaction statuses for invoicing.

D. Operational & Telemetry Data

We collect server resource telemetry (RAM usage, CPU utilization, disk consumption), runtime console logs generated by your bot processes, and request metadata (IP address, user agent) for rate limiting, security auditing, and infrastructure maintenance.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provision, maintain, restart, and monitor isolated containers for your bots.
  • To process subscription payments, upgrades, and billing renewal cycles.
  • To send essential transactional notifications (email verifications, password resets, critical security notices, and billing receipts).
  • To detect abuse, unauthorized access, denial-of-service attempts, and violations of our Acceptable Use Policy.
  • To provide customer support and troubleshoot deployment issues you report to our team.

4. Data Security & Storage

We implement industry-standard safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure:

  • Container Isolation: Every bot runs in an isolated, sandboxed container with strictly enforced memory and resource boundaries.
  • Encryption in Transit: All communication between your browser, our API, and container infrastructure is encrypted using HTTPS and TLS protocols.
  • Restricted Access: Production database access is tightly restricted and guarded with role-based authentication and audit trails.

5. Third-Party Integrations

We partner with vetted third-party service providers solely to operate our platform:

  • Paystack: Secure payment processing and subscription tokenization.
  • Resend / SMTP: Transactional email delivery and verification dispatch.
  • GitHub: Optional GitHub App integration for continuous deployment from your private or public code repositories.

We never sell, rent, or monetize your personal information or bot source code to data brokers or advertising networks.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account remains active. If you cancel your subscription or delete your account:

  • Active bot containers are stopped and their runtime resources decommissioned.
  • Build artifacts and server files are purged according to our lifecycle retention schedule.
  • Account records and invoices may be retained for the minimum period necessary to comply with legal, tax, and audit obligations.

7. Your Rights & Choices

You have full control over your personal information:

  • You can update your profile details and password anytime in your Account Settings.
  • You can disconnect third-party GitHub App permissions at any time.
  • You may request an export or permanent deletion of your account by contacting our privacy team at support@usebotforge.app.

8. Privacy Inquiries
